Traced Traced by Catherine Jinks

Traced takes place in a time ALL of us are familiar with - the pandemic era - when of course tracing people’s whereabouts was part of everyday life .

The trouble with that meant it complicated your life if you were trying to keep a low profile. Keeping your whereabouts private was near impossible and that’s exactly what this mother & Daughter discovered.

Traced takes you on a journey of the realisation that the digital age really leaves little place for anyone to hide even when you think you have covered all bases.

I’m always on the lookout for new-to-me Australian authors especially in my favourite genre of mystery/thriller and what a treat that this is Catherine’s first in the genre. Full disclosure I would not have picked up any of Catherine’s previous books before as they just don’t fall into my reading list but I’m so glad I was given the opportunity to get this as a digital ARC and discover Catherine Jinks.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and hope that Catherine plans to write more in this genre.

As I haven’t had a physical copy of this book in my hands, I’m not sure if it will be included but I feel it may need the addition of trigger warnings although this was not an issue for me.

Gentle Beginnings...

Its 2023 are blogs redundant?

Wait if that’s true... it makes me redundant then I guess and although my age gives me away I don’t think I’m ready for that part of my life just yet.

I’ve always been an avid reader and over the years I’ve thought about writing. Not Best Selling Author writing but more to help others in some way.

Glorifying words or creating a weighty paragraph from what someone else would write in a simple sentence is something that excites me.

Yet the process of writing/planning a book seems far bigger and less attractive to me and attaining notoriety is so unappealing but yet let me elaborate on an idea with words on a page and I’m in my element.

Why blog then?

Well I have to be honest even blogs have never been attractive to me the thought of having to wade through pages of information that I could probably get in a quick tik Tok, Instagram or maybe a slightly larger YouTube video has always led me in that direction when researching or looking for topics of interest.

Until recently...

2023 seems to be my year for self discoveries.

It was the year I picked a book up after a several year hiatus,

It was a year that I gained incredible desire to want to share my internal joy and reacquainted love of reading.

Its now the year that has brought me to begin my blog and hopefully build a community around me with likewise thoughts.

Before now I had tried a few times to jump back into books but a few pages in I would feel bored or not satisfied by the content that I was able to absorb in the amount of time I had given it.

Well..

That was until I finally picked up a book (well lets be honest it was in digital format so clicked on ) and started reading and guess what it had me hooked from the start..

It reminded me why I love that genre kept me wanting to turn the page again and again and had me reading till the sun was almost due to come back up again.

Cant wait to tell you about the book & author but  todays blog is just for the beginnings.. the beginnings of book reading... the beginnings of sharing my thoughts and views and the beginning of a healthy habit for self care that I hope will take me beyond my days.

So welcome to what I hope is not only a staple in my life but yours too.

Follow along with me, gain a love of books, renew your love of reading or learn about a topic , author or a genre you thought you wouldn’t enjoy.

Until the next one... Kezza
